So, today I finally decided to buy reeds. I usually end up buying a box of ten per month plus any other accesories that I may need to get me through the month. Needless to say, I finally found a thumb cushion that actually was comfortable and didn't make my thumb feel weird. Usually the rests are... too cushy. If that could ever be a problem! These ones are magnificient! If you are a clarinet player and are in need of a thumb rest, get one and try them out. They're simply amazing. They're Valentino Clarinet Thumb Rest Cushions, and they are to die for. Not literally speaking of course!
There is only one problem with this thumb pad- they are NEVER in stock. I've checked www.wwbw.com www.music123.com and www.musiciansfriend.com. I always get my accessories from www.wwbw.com, but what I've noticed is the prices from all three of these websites are the same, or if not similar.
Eventually, I found a little loop hole in how to buy these fantasitc thumb pads. Instead of finding the 12 pack, you have to buy mulitple packs of two. The downside to this method is it is more expensive. But, if you really need them, it is worth the extra money.
Thank you,
Alexa

The Story So Far...
"The Story So Far, is already here. We made it this far through the shadows and fear..." (Flogging Molly, The Story So Far). They are one of my favorite bands. This song gave me inspiration for the title of the blog, obviously.
Everyone has a story to tell. The story in my life so far is music- how to 'make it.' I guess you can say. Not to be a startving musician, but one who is able to make a comfortable living. I think, you can go anywhere you want to in life if you work hard enough, and through music I believe that myself and others can be who we want to be. That is my story.

A Story of Bored?
Happy June everyone!!
Summer is only 19 days away, I think. Go warm weather!
Anyway, as your sitting at home, don't you ever get bored? I mean, just sitting there alone, wondering, "why isn't there anything to do?" Especially in the summer, I ask myself this question a lot! It's crazy. During the year, I have school, homework, and everyone's favorite, work. Yay!
Luckily I found this website on Purpleslinky.com about what to do when you're bored. I thought this list was informative and funny. Take a look and see for yourself! Please click here to read an article by Sarah Sanguine.
Thank You!

A Story of Summer
Summer is almost here. College students and high school Seniors are now out of school. Everyone else will be getting out shortly. Isn't it great. Summer has always been my favorite time of the year. It's the time when you can spend the most time with your family without worrying about your children or your children worrying about absences and making up homework at school. We all know what a pain that is to make up. I missed a week of school one week and for about three days I had three hours of homework every night. But, not during summer! Yay!
May is now at a close, what will June bring? I have no idea. Maybe prosperity for those who deserve it. A lot of good family time? Hopefully the month of June brings good luck to everyone. I think because it's summer this month all of the posts are going to be something offbeat and fun.
Have a great day everyone!

A Story of "Perfect" By Natasha Friend

Bulimia. It's something that everyone has heard of and maybe even experienced. As we all know, it is a eating disorder, and a scary one at that! In Natasha Friend's book, Perfect, we follow a girl named Isabelle Lee who uses bulimia as a way to let out her sorrow.
Isabelle's father died, and that's when she developed her eating disorder. It was a sort of let out for her, if I can say that. Isabelle would eat tons of food, by the descriptions Natasha gives her readers it is more than a normal person would eat at one sitting. Then, Isabelle vomits and it sort of lets her feelings go.
You would think any mother would have caught on to her child's eating disorder really fast, right? Not necessarily. Ape Face, a.k.a. April Isabelle's sister, rats her out to her mother. Her mother, reacting as every mother should, sent Isabelle to group counseling.
But, what kind of teenager wants to go to group counseling? None!! Isabelle, fights her mother every step of the way. When Isabelle is in the counseling, the most popular person in school is there with the same eating disorder as her.
To read another book review on Perfect By Natasha Friend please click here.
In my opinion of Perfect is that Natasha Friend gives you a great look into a person with an eating disorder. Why they can develop (well a few reasons why they can develop) and how to deal with them. This is a must read for weight obsessed teens!
Thank you!!

A Story of "Land of a Hundred Wonders" By Lesely Kagen

Lesely Kagen has also written the bestselling novel Whistling in the Dark. I haven't read that particular book of hers, but I wouldn't doubt that it is a great book.
"What would you do if you were in a car accident where both of your parents died and you banged your head very badly? Gibby McGraw of Cray Ridge, Kentucky wants to be a reporter, it's one of the few things she remembers doing after her accident. The only problem is, Gibby is NQR, or Not Quite Right by her Grampa's standards. She forgets everything, and doesn't know what is appropriate or not.
She could just be saying, "Hi" to someone at the Top O' the Mornin' Diner where she works with her Grampa, and then call them a name. A name that if it was said on TV would have to be bleeped out. Being so forgetful, Gibby forgets where she is and what she is doing. Gibby's Grampa takes care of her.
After Gibby is busing tables- her Grampa won't let her waitress because of her NQRness..."

A Story of a Lock and Key By Sarah Dessen

Lock and Key By Sarah Dessen is one of my favorite novels. If you haven't figured it out, Sarah Dessen is definitely one of my favorite authors.
I would like to apologize for not putting a post up in about a week, literally. I've been sick, and haven't been able to get myself to my computer to type up a new post that hopefully you guys enjoy.
"Ruby and her mother, Ruby, lived together after her parents split. Her sister, Cora, left for college- there's a ten year age gap between Ruby and her sister- and Ruby believes started her own life and wants nothing to do with her. While living with her mother, Ruby learns many different things. Like, to be just like her mother, who is a drunk and doesn't care about anyone.
Ruby's mother leaves her to go, no one knows where. She up and leaves Ruby while is at school. You see, Ruby is almost 18, so she thinks she can live in the yellow house her and her mom lived in and no one will notice. Eventually someone figures it out and Ruby is left to live with Cora and Cora's husband Jamie.
Ruby is messed up..."

Sarah Dessen does a phenomenal job of showing two different stories that are very familiar. Please enjoy!
